Hello Dolphin friends and families!
Morning & Afternoon Meeting
For our short week we continued to work on the days of the week and the months of the year. Also, we started to start to learn how to dance to the gummy bear dance!
For week 5, we continued to learn the gummy bear dance and now they are really starting to get the hang of it! They are all dancing so well to the song now! Additionally, we practiced moving in specific ways with other dances like "move it move it"! They are starting to gain better control of their gross motor skills!
Language and Literacy
For our short week, we looked at the letter i. We sang songs about i, practiced tracing i, looked at words that start with i, and made an ice cream cone craft!
For week 5, we practiced the alphabet! We went fishing for letters, we went on a scavenger hunt to look for certain sounds, we practiced tracing the letter P, read stories that have the p sound in them, and we made a Pig craft!
Math
For our short week, we practiced counting and recognizing numbers up to 10. We used a small sand pit and hid cards for the kids to find, and we practiced throwing and catching to work on counting and fine motor skills!
For week 5, we continued practicing the numbers 1-10. We traced the numbers, we used a magic box to try to remember numbers, we marched around as a train counting numbers, and used dice to count the number they roll! They had so much fun this week!
Topic Exploration
The theme for our short week was my school. We talked about the different things they could see in school! We sang a song that says items they could find in school!
For week 5, our theme was my family! We drew a picture of our family and we sang songs about family. We looked at pictures of Mr. Trey's family and talked about the different members of the family! They had a lot of fun looking at the pictures and talking about their families!
Free Play!
Here are some pictures of our friends enjoying heir playtime. We played in both the big room and the park this week. They are so creative when it comes to playing in both of these places!
Book of the Week
Our book of the week for the short week was Wake up, Sun! and for week 5 was Oops, Sorry!
