Reminders

Summer is here and it's has gotten very hot recently! We kindly ask that you dress your child in a suitable uniform to ensure they stay comfortable during the school day. Please continue to complete Class Dojo's temperature check each morning before 8am. Thank you for labeling your child's belongings for school. Please make sure new items (jackets, spoons, socks etc.) are also labelled.

Curriculum highlights

What an incredible week we've had exploring the exciting world of transportation, both on land and in water! This theme is all about connecting with what excites our students, and their love for cars has certainly made it so fun! We also went to visit the fire station! We met the amazing firefighters, our real-life heroes who keep us safe. We even saw ambulances zooming off to help people, which was a fantastic way to see how different vehicles serve our community.

On Monday, we had fun with pretend driving and car play on our road mats. We practiced recognizing straight and curved lines while exploring all sorts of cool cars.

Tuesday was all about BIG and SMALL! We sorted our car toys by size and sang "Open Shut Them," enjoying learning about opposites.

Wednesday brought some messy fun with a sand play activity! Our favorite cars left awesome "vroom vroom" prints in the sand as we talked about FAST and SLOW.

Then on Thursday, we focused on the concept of similarity. We encouraged everyone to use the word "same" as we found matching pictures and solved some fun car-themed puzzles.

On Friday, we wrapped up our week with a super splashy car wash activity! We talked about CLEAN and DIRTY and had two stations where students scrubbed down "dirty" cars with brushes and sponges. It was so much fun, we ended up wonderfully wet but happy!

We're so proud of all the learning and exploring our students did this week. Get ready for more transportation adventures next week!
