Hello Dolphin Friends and Families!
Morning & Afternoon Meeting
This week we did a lot of different dances! We have also started to talk about the weather more! Every day they always say, "It is going to rain later" even if it is sunny haha! They really enjoy dancing to Danny Go and it always makes them smile and laugh loudly when they see it!! On Friday, we had a combined big room time with our Orca friends to play and dance together. They had so much fun!
Language and Literacy
This week we started to look at the letter D! We started by making a dinosaur out of the letter. Then we practiced tracing the letter and tracing our names! We tried to write our names by ourselves too! Then we made a dolphin with our feet! We stepped into wet paint and then stepped on a paper to make a dolphin! Then we played with playdough and made a dolphin out of it!
Math
This week we continued to look at shapes, we even learned a couple of new shapes too! We played with legos to see who could make the largest lego tower, we played I Spy with shapes to see if we could see which shape was which, we made apples by cutting squares and rectangles out and gluing them onto paper, and we ended the week by playing a fun shape game to see if they knew the shapes!! They really enjoy shapes.
Topic Exploration
This week's topic exploration was trees! We watched a video about how trees work, we traced and cut out our hands to look like trees, and then we painted the tree with rings to make it look like leaves!! They had a lot of fun with this topic!
Free Play!
Here are some pictures of our friends enjoying their playtime. This week was very hot and humid outside, so we decided to stay inside this week! We played some very fun games in the big room!
Book of the Week
Our book of the week was There Is a Bird on Your Head! The students thought this book was very silly and funny!!
