Week 13 Theme:
Transportation
Reminders
Curriculum highlights
What an incredible week we've had exploring the exciting world of transportation, both on land and in water! This theme is all about connecting with what excites our students, and their love for cars has certainly made it so fun! This week we focused on reviewing the vehicles learned last week and emphasizing on water transportation such as boats. We also enjoy singing 5 Little Ducks song with our rubber duckies in the morning and afternoon meeting time. Quack quack quack!
On Monday, we learned about primary colors – red, yellow, and blue! We worked on our fine motor skills with some sensory play, using tongs to pick up boats in the sand.
Tuesday was all about being brave and trying something new with our foot painting boat craft! It was amazing to see everyone's faces light up as they made their unique marks on the paper.
On Wednesday, we sharpened our observation skills with a vehicle matching activity. We found two same cards and exclaimed "same!" This was also a great way to review all the vehicles we learned about last week.
On Thursday, we went on an ocean adventure! We "rode" our cardboard boats and enjoyed fishing with our magnet rods, catching red, yellow, and blue fish. We even sang "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" as we rowed and fished along.
We wrapped up the week on Friday with some exciting water play. We made our boats move and float by splashing and blowing – blowing was tricky, but everyone gave it their best shot!
Term 1 is almost over, but we still have two more days of fun next week before Summer School begins. We want to thank those friends who are finishing Term 1 today for a truly wonderful and memorable time with all of you! See you in Term 2 :)
