Theme of the week :
Children's Interest
Welcome back to yet another exciting week. May we kindly remember to send our morning Class dojo everyday for our little one's update. As the weather is getting colder, you may change some school clothes to fit the appropriate weather. I hope we stay warm and safe from the flue that is going around. Thank you for your support.
Curriculum highlights
Hello Seahorse family .
We started our week of Children's Interest by exploring the letter sound I. We talked about the different objects that had the sound and the most outstanding was the iguana. They were all surprised and said they haven't seen it before, so we earned a new animal !
On Tuesday, we explored the natural side of our sensory bin. We went on a dinosaur haunt using tongs to save them. They each had to look through a pile of leaves and rescue a dinosaur, then place it on their table. This helps with their movement and coordination as they go from place to place.
On Wednesday, we explored ourselves more. What we like to eat (fruits), weather we like and how we would like to dress ourselves. It gives them a great sense of identity as they get to explore themselves and their preferences.
On Thursday we had to talk about a special shape called a diamond. This was so much fun as we could actually make it using our hands. We then traced over it, and colored the diamond only. As they are progressing, we are now trying structured coloring . They did a great job with this. Also it was Class Photo day and we brought our smiles to the camera!
On Friday, we tried a physical movement game and musical chairs. The goal was for them to practice the pose on the chair when the music stopped. They tried to imitate the poses displayed in their own manner. They were able to follow through the activity.
