Morning & Afternoon Meeting
For morning meeting and afternoon meeting this week was a lot of fun! We started the week with our morning assembly. We talked about how to be caring this week. Then, we played a fun game with the lower grade students and decorated a banner together! They all had so much fun helping each other. We also continued to dance and play together to wake ourselves up in the morning!
Language and Literacy
This week we looked at a new sound, the sound 'ch'! We practiced writing some words with 'ch' in them. We did some work puzzles where we had to put together different 'ch' words. We made a special 'ch' chicken. We made a 'ch' flower that shows different 'ch' words! Then, we played a 'ch' board game! They did great!
Math
This week we continued to look at shapes. We looked at shapes and objects and we had to match the shape to the object. We fed monsters that were hungry for different shapes. We practiced tracing and drawing different shapes. We used playdough to make different shapes in small groups. Then, we made a shape pizza and counted how many shapes we put on it!
Topic Exploration
This week's topic exploration was stories that we tell! We read different classic stories and did different things after reading them! We read If you give a mouse a cookie and made a sequencing book of the different things the mouse wanted. We made a special "Cat in the Hat" hat after reading the story. We made bear puppets for "Goldilocks and the Three Bears". Then, we made houses made out of different material for the three little pigs.
