Week 42 - March 12th, 2026

Hello, Orca Class families!

Morning & Afternoon Meeting

Our morning meetings this week might be short but were truly engaging and meaningful! Then, we started singing good morning song wherein we formed a circle and danced together as we say hello to everyone. Every Thursday, our Pre-K friends became the song leaders; every Fridays, our Kinder friends became ones too. It was such a joy seeing them laughing and holding each others' hands to begin our day. It was followed by checking our calendar time, assigning class jobs, doing a movement song and sharing about our whereabouts through our Class Dojo photos.

In the afternoon, we continued our Term 3  Show and Tell  this week about their favorite things to show our differences. It was wonderful that our friends' brought different things like dinosaur, stuff toy, and other toys from Blue  group. It was engaging and meaningful as we tried to guess what our friends brought/showed. We would like to thank our dearest parents for your utmost support not only this term but throughout the school year.  We ended our day through reading a storybook and singing a goodbye song. This week, we also had our earthquake drill and our students knew what to do immediately as they went under the table and evacuated our room to go downstairs. Also, they were actively explaining the do's and dont's during an earthquake.

Language & Literacy

Pre-K

For our Literacy, we focused on reviewing and reading CVC words through different activities such as "Read and Race Word family" and continuously doing our booklets. Since it is a short week, we also used this time to engage in our learning centres and do special crafts as we wrap-up this year.

Kinder

For our Literacy, we used this time to continue honing our writing skills through writing a sentence using picture guides to connect what they have learned. We also used our time to rehearse our dances, graduation walk and speeches. Last Wednesday, we went to Izumi campus for our graduation rehearsal. Our friends did so well trying to remember the things and what to do. Almost there, bright learners! See you all on Saturday and we can't wait to witness you graduate and soar high!

Maths

Pre-K

For Week 42, both Pre-K and Kinder focused on reviewing all the topics we covered this term via playing games and working through personalized booklets filled with fun and engaging activities, ranging from traditional problem solving equations to coloring-based worksheets. Pre-K specifically focused on addition, subtraction, number and shape recognition, pattern solving, and skip counting.

Kinder

For Week 42, both Pre-K and Kinder focused on reviewing all the topics we covered this term via playing games and working through personalized booklets filled with fun and engaging activities, ranging from traditional problem solving equations to coloring-based worksheets. Kinder specifically focused on double and triple digit addition/subtraction (without regrouping), multiplication, 3-D shape recognition, reading analogue clocks, and skip counting.

Topic Exploration and Term End Party

For this week, we read the book "Gratitude Jar" as a way to wrap-up our school year. Then we drew the people we are grateful for this year like our family and friends even our pets! Then, we wrote things we are grateful for on a paper and put it in our pretend jar.

For our Term End Party, we decorated our face craft as part of our class gift, and had a unpoppable bubble experiment using dish soap and sugar. Our friends were so delighted blowing bubbles on the table endlessly! We also played a "Find a Friend in a Parachute" game wherein we sang the song and once the song ended, they hid under the parachute and teachers started guessing and finding them! They were so proud that the teachers were not able to find them like playing hide-and-seek. In the afternoon, we had a wonderful time spending our time together watching Pikmin and Pokemon whilst, eating popcorn and drinking fruit juices! Our packs of popcorn were all eaten so fast! We ended our day through giving them our special gift "Orca Pokemon card" and a glow-in-the-dark stick! We are so grateful for each one of you. Thank you for being part of Orca class. It would not be complete without each one of you! You are like a puzzle piece that made us complete! We love you, Orca friends! Always remember, "Do Your Best!"
