Week 3 - April 25

Theme of the week : Myself

Curriculum highlights

Hello Seahorse friends and families!

It was such a great week for Seahorse Class. We have finally made friends and settled in a little bit. Our week was filled with so much energy, and fun with our little ones. With them exploring themselves as individuals, knowing their names and faces was so much fun, also getting to recognize familiar faces, like their friends! Let's jump into our activities for the week.

On Monday, we had a mini puppet show with Mr. Elephant and our little ones were trying to feed him. The main part of this activity was to let our little ones practice the magic word, "Please". Puppetry is a fun way to engage our toddlers into verbal conversations as they role play and try to feed Mr. Elephant. This helps to increase their vocabulary and be kind to each other in the process.

On Tuesday, we were exploring our sense of taste by cutting out a giant strawberry using a plastic scissors. Scissors handling is one of the many essential skills that our little ones need to develop as they will be working on their fine motor skills, making the fingers flexible for pencil grip in the long run.

On Wednesday, It was our time to shine as artists. We had to make a portrait of ourselves, stick and color it just to add a personal touch. It is important that our little ones have a sense of self and also the ability to familiarize and identify others. This helps them to trust their environment as they see faces they are familiar with.

On Thursday, It was our numeracy day. Nothing beats the mixture of paint and shapes , so we made a circle print using shapes.

On Friday, double the fun with Starfish friends! We had a blast singing, dancing, and moving around together. We also read our weekly book and sang our family song as one big group. It was all about fun, making new friends, and a perfect way to finish up before Golden Week.
