Hello Seahorse friends and families!
This week we decided to go with food that keeps us healthy, and that is vegetables! How we love to munch on a carrot, or some cucumbers, yum! This helps our learners to realize how important vegetables are in our diet and the role it plays in keeping us healthy. Although, at times we were getting some frowning faces, they did fine some vegetables they like , so we had so much fun.
On Monday, we had double the fun with Starfish friends. Our goal was to explore animals, and we had a sensory activity. We went on an animal rescue activity, scooping the animals and placing them in a bowl. These are life long skills we start learning n preparation for our feeding time, as well as coordination.
On Tuesday, we started our vegetable journey. Pasting vegetables can be fun especially if they are colorful and on paper. We got to name the different vegetables we know as well as express our faces for the ones we like and dislike! You will be surprised how much we appreciate vegetables!
On Wednesday, what fun is it to learn about vegetables and not see how we have them in the first place? We dived into a planting experience with our Seahorse friends. They had to plant their tomatoes and carrots in spoil with their hands. Exploring different textures with their fingers, from the vegetable materials to the soil itself. They love exploring the soil, so this was a fun way to learn how to plant.
On Thursday, our Seahorse friends had a sorting activity. This is a skill that requires focus and observational skills. Our little ones are still to sort very well but we had to give it a try. It was an activity that helps with even color identification. The vegetables are colorful, and we wanted to explore all the possible colors!
On Friday, we finally wrapped the week with a carrot craft. I mean who doesn't like a carrot? You can munch on it raw or even cooked . However you like it, it's delicious! They got to stick small pieces of orange to make it a carrot! What a week we had, full of health !
