Curriculum highlights
Hello Term 2! It's so nice to have you all again for another fun and exciting term this year! Our first theme for this term was Nursery Rhymes and Children's Stories.
On Monday, we held our very first morning assembly with all the Aoba Horizon students in the big room. We sang songs, greeted our teachers and friends, and learned about being responsible. A fun puppet show helped us understand the importance of being responsible in the classroom.
On Tuesday, we talked about the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears through interactive storytelling. It was a very nice story to learn about different sizes (small, medium and large) through visuals and comparisons. For our craft, we painted a Bear mask using a brush that's perfect for our little hands.
On Wednesday, we reviewed the story and talked about the difference between hot and cold just like the porridge that Goldilocks ate from the Three Bears. We used warm and cold water and did some tactile activity.
On Thursday, we talked about another opposites (hard and soft) just like the chairs that Goldilocks sat on from the house of the Three Bears. We looked around our room to look for soft and hard objects and did a sorting activity.
On Friday, the Three Bears visited us! They were so hungry and wanted some porridge. Starfish friends helped out by feeding them a pretend "too hot", "too cold", and "just right" porridge! We were so good at scooping and feeding. Thank you for helping, friends!
