Curriculum highlights
On Monday, we started off the week with a story for the Three Little pigs.They were still trying to figure out what the story is all about, the pictures helped to explain! We had a morning assembly in the big room with the rest of the school and a great puppet show about being " Responsible" .It was our new word for the week !
On Tuesday, we still talked about the three little pigs which is a great way to have them count the little pigs and their houses. We did a craft on making a straw house for the first pig, using fine paper mesh to enhance our textures.
On Wednesday, we made our second pi craft house for this day. It was a house made of wood and we used popsicle sticks. Pasting is so much fun especially when we use the different texture to make a house. they now had an understanding of the story which helps with their vocabulary.
On Thursday, we had a masked wolf to illustrate how the wolf acts in the story. They had so much fun laughing at the story and they could sequence which pig stays in which house. They tried to build their own houses using wooden blocks and kinetic sand!
On Friday, we wrapped our week with the third house of bricks. This has really helped them to differentiate textures and also have an understanding of different house structures! They also tried to retell the story using pictures which is great for their imagination.
