To accomplish this we played a variety of games, engaged in numerous activities, and completed many fun crafts. We also focused on working with numbers up to 20. We played a new game which entailed long jumping and measuring the distance traveled with triangle blocks. We also used many different shapes as measuring units to measure many objects and toys found within the classroom, recording the lengths of them and familiarizing ourselves with numbers up to 10. We also did some worksheets with addition up to 20, using visual aids through pictures to help the students recognize numbers easier.

For math this week we focused on measuring with nonstandard units, identifying varying lengths, and working on addition up to 40. To accomplish this we made many crafts, engaged in some physical activities and even incorporated science experiments. We made our own rulers and then used them to measure many objects found within the classroom, recording the lengths of said objects, We also discussed the sizes of the objects and organized them according to sight, taste, and sound. We then played a new game which entailed drawing a random number from 20-40 and using that number as a basis of how many block we could use to build the longest object amongst our peers. Towards the end of the week we made rocket ships and launched them into the air with a custom launch pad, measuring the height the rocket traveled with nonstandard units up to 40.

100th Day Celebration
This Friday, we also celebrated our 100th Day in School with all our friends and teachers. Together with Dolphin friends,
we had three different stations: 100th day flag decorating using 100 stickers, Find the 100 things in Sand Play and Blow
the Shinkansen Cup Race. It was so fun and they were so excited to do every station with their friends. Watching them
trying their best to blow the cups and coming up with their strategies to keep the cup moving, building different sculptures
out of sand and imagination, and patiently decorating and counting 100 stickers were the highlights of this event!
In the afternoon, after packing our weekend bags and having our Show and Tell, we had a movie time, “Peter Pan” in the room.
We ended our day through giving each one of them a 100th Day medal of being smarter and kinder in Orca class, and of course, their favorite origami stars!
Watching them grow and become the best that they can be since Day 1 was truly a moment to cherish!
May each one of you be filled with love and joy for learning in school!
