Week 23 Theme:
Sunflowers 🌻
Reminders
This week, we explored the beauty of sunflowers, the flower of Autumn! We started by learning about the color yellow and took a moment to smell the flowers around us.
On Tuesday, we had fun with a sunflower lacing activity where the children planted their sunflowers and added green to the stems by threading green paper. This helped challenge their fine motor skills and practice taking turns.
On Wednesday, we worked on a picture-matching activity, identifying common items like babies, dogs, and cars. The children did a fantastic job repeating the names of things and practicing their vocabulary!
On Thursday, the sunflower seed transfer game was a hit! We used cups to count sunflower seeds and practiced stacking and scattering them within the big flowers.
Lastly on Friday, to wrap up the week, we had a colorful and creative sunflower craft activity. Using dot stickers, the children made their sunflowers pop with color! They turned out so cute—please take a look at their masterpieces in the hallway!
It’s been a week full of learning and fun! 🌻
