Curriculum highlights

On Tuesday, we started our week with a sensory activity. We had a sunflower sensory themed bin, whereby our toddlers were picking up their favorite flowers and placing them in a pot. Since we had one bin for each table, it encouraged them to share, and make use of words like, "Can I have? " or "My turn". We are building vocabulary as we play with each other and earn!

On Wednesday, we had fun coloring and pasting activity. Matching can come in all sorts of activities hence our toddlers had to look for leaves, and paste the pre-cut ones they had as well as the stem. For the flower, we had to fine our motor skills, so they each picked a flower of choice and colored the flower only. We are now moving from free coloring, to guided coloring whereby we only focus on the object and not the whole paper!

On Thursday, we made a sunflower craft from scratch. With only the petals and the seeds, they layered each petal however they thought. Keeping in mind, they had to copy a sunflower and try to remake it. We ended up having fully blooming sunflowers and others that still needed some sun haha! This gives them autonomy as they apply the glue all by themselves without any assistance.

On Friday, we had a gross motor activity. What is a week of activities, without us moving our whole bodies?
