Week 26 - November 7th, 2025

Morning & Afternoon Meeting

For morning meeting and afternoon meeting last week and this week we continued to learn new songs and dances to surprise everyone at Celebration of Learning! They are really starting to get the hang of these new songs and dances!! We are also talking about seasons and what each season looks like and how it feels! They are doing great!!

Language and Literacy

Last week we learned about a new sound, the 'ai' sound! They really liked learning about this sound because it was in a lot of words they already knew! We practiced writing the letters in the sound. We made a rain cloud where the rain drops have different 'ai' words inside of them. We did word puzzles with different 'ai' words. Finally we used playdough to create a word with the 'ai' sound. They did so great learning about the sound!!

This week was a short week, but we still had a lot of fun regardless. We learned about a new letter, J! We made a special jellyfish where they cut the tentacles themselves! We used playdough to make the letter J, but we made sure to stay inside the lines! Then, we practiced writing the letter J! They did really great this week!

Math

Last week we looked at equal and unequal. They really liked the song that we used for math time! They really liked learning about the topic this week! We counted objects and glued right number in the boxes. We gave them toys and they had to make equal sets with it. We practiced making unequal sets by drawing shapes in boxes. And, we used playdough to make cookie jars equal! They did great!

This week we continued to look at equal and unequal! We had a puppet show to talk about two friends that have snacks that are equal, but one friend eats his snacks so now they aren't equal. The kids really enjoyed the puppet show! Then we let everyone get a number from the magic box, and they got the same number of toys to equal it out! We used pool noodles to divide the class into two parts, then we put toys on either side. Then, they had to make both sides equal with the toys! Then, we looked at a page and circled if the groups were equal or unequal. They did really great!!

Topic Exploration

Last week's topic exploration was around the world! We colored different flags from different countries! We watched a video about airports and pretended to go through an airport in the classroom. We tried to do different dances from around the world. Then, we made special pumpkin bags for Halloween! This week's topic exploration was sports! We played soccer in the Big room and tried to kick the ball into the goal. We played baseball. We made paper balls and used a plastic bat to try to hit the balls! Then we played basketball. They had a lot of fun trying out these different sports!!
