Curriculum highlights
On Monday, we started off with a frog craft. Fun fact, did you know that frogs also hibernate during winter time? We talked about different animals, introducing our vocabulary for the week! To keep them from forgetting, we had flashcards for them to also talk about them in their groups. We did ribbit, ribbit in our class for fun!
On Tuesday, we ventured into a fun hands on activity. We used play dough for the first time and they loved! They understood that we have to mold it first before we do anything. They tried to make a bear face, and the fun part was they all made something from it ! They loved it, and this will not be the end of play dough as it really helps to strengthen their fine motor skills!
On Wednesday, we used some shredded paper to make a paper bear. This helps with their visual spatial skills as they try to determine where to put the eyes, ears and mouth. It also helps with their concentration as well, and focus. They were also engaging in conversations during this activity.
On Thursday, we went on a bear hunt as we tried to put some bears to sleep. They were counting bears and putting them to bed. This helps them to familiarize themselves with counting each object on its own and not repeating the same number.
On Friday, we had a combined activity with our Starfish friends. They were making Autumn leaf crowns. We wanted to make the best out of nature and let them enjoy the fall season with some crafts! We were also wearing our class color : orange and enjoyed ourselves being lovely and orangy.
