Morning & Afternoon Meeting

For morning meeting and afternoon meeting we continued to learn about the seasons and practice our different celebration of learning songs and dances. They really like talking about how the different seasons are special! They are also singing the celebration of learning songs really well now! Along with the dances! They are moving along great!!

Language and Literacy

This week we learned about a new sound, 'oa'! They really enjoyed this sound! Their ability to make words with the sounds they know is getting really great too! We made a boat that said My boat can float! We practiced writing different words that have 'oa' in them. We used playdough to make the word boat. Then, we made a toad! They wrote My Toad on his feet!! They did great this week!

Math

This week we looked at more! We used playdough to make fish. Each student got a number then they had to make that many fish and put them the bowl. Then they had to figure out what one more was! We had trees and tried to match how many trees were on the board. Then we had to add a random number of apples more onto our trees. We had an ice cream party and everyone got different amounts of scoops of paper ice cream. Then, we talked about who had more at the table. We had two zoos and we rolled dice to see how many animals would be put inside. Then, we saw who had more animals. Finally, we made alligators to prepare for learning about more and less!! They really did great!

Topic Exploration

This week's topic exploration was community helpers! We learned about different community helpers with a new song! We had a coloring sheet where they had to match the colors to each vehicle! Everyone really did great! Everyone got all the colors right! We made a chart and talked about what job each student wanted to do when they got older. A lot of them wanted to be police officers and bus drivers! Then, we made a turkey to celebrate autumn on our special fall day!!
