Week 29 - November 28th, 2025

Hello, Orca Class families!

Morning & Afternoon Meeting

Our morning meetings this week were truly engaging and meaningful! Then, we started singing good morning song wherein we formed a circle and danced together as we say hello to everyone. It was such a joy seeing them laughing and holding each others' hands to begin our day. It was followed by checking our calendar time, assigning class jobs, doing a movement song and sharing about our whereabouts through our Class Dojo photos. Last Thursday, we also had our First Rehearsal at Izumi campus for our Celebration of Learning. Next Tuesday, it will be our Dress Rehearsal in the same venue.

In the afternoon, we continued our Term 2  Show and Tell  this week. It was wonderful that our friends' different objects and photos about something from our Animal Products from Blue group. It was engaging and meaningful as we tried to guess what our friends brought/showed. Our friends even asked a lot of question such as the shape, color, size, and if it can be eaten or not. Next week , it will be about Products from Animals from others who had not had their turn. We ended our day through reading a storybook and singing a goodbye song.

Language & Literacy

Pre-K

For this week, we talked about our Raz-Kids book entitled, "I am community Helper". We described the pictures and read aloud the words with everyone. Then, we did some phonics review and continuously singing our phonics song and vowels song to enhance our phonics recognition.   In addition, since this week we had our First Rehearsal at Izumi, we practiced during this time with our songs and lines for our The Lion King play. We will resume our phonics learning next week given that it was also a short week this week.

Kinder

To jumpstart our Literacy time , we talked about our Raz-Kids book entitled, "At The Library". To enhance our understanding, we did a related worksheet  too. Furthermore, since this week we had our First Rehearsal at Izumi, we practiced during this time with our songs and lines for our Peter Pan play. We will resume our phonics learning next week given that it was also a short week this week.

Maths

Pre-K

For Week 29, we focused our efforts towards learning how to tell time on both digital and analogue clocks. We made our own analogue clocks in which we got to color and decorate how we pleased. We complemented our studies with various worksheets and presentations. We will continue this topic next week as we will increase the difficulty of the content to challenge our Orca's understanding.

Kinder

This week Kinder students focused on learning how to tell time via analogue clocks, as well as learning common terms that indicate time such as: "a quarter to 7", "half past 12", etc. We had some interactive activities in which we completed problems on the whiteboard by filling in the correct times on the clock via drawing the small and big hands of the clock. We supplemented our studies with a few worksheets and presentations. We will also continue this topic next week to further strengthen our understanding.

Topic Exploration

For this week, we kickstarted with Animal Products through singing a song, brainstorming about what they already know, and doing a collaborative sorting activity about animal products from chicken, pig, cow, and sheep. We will continue to explore this topic next week as we delve into hands-on learning activities such as as milking a cow and chicken egg harvesting. We will also be introducing Dinosaurs next week. During this time too, we used this time to practice our dances for our Celebration of Learning.
