Curriculum highlights

What a great first week of school! Happy New Year, everyone! 🎉

The first day back to school was calm and happy. Everyone came in quietly, behaved so well, and didn’t seem nervous at all to be back. We also welcomed a new friend to our class, and it was wonderful to see how kind and helpful everyone was as they helped her feel comfortable and adjust to our classroom.

On Tuesday, we sang and danced to the songs we loved from past terms and enjoyed a group play activity where we reviewed our class rules about playing nicely with friends.

Wednesday was full of color as we worked together on a group activity, decorating the year 2026 with bright, colorful paper to welcome the new year in a fun and creative way.

On Thursday, we started our day with lots of excitement, loudly banging maracas and tambourines as part of our New Year’s tradition. We then made beautiful fireworks crafts to celebrate with friends. Yay!

To finish the week on Friday, we practiced our fine motor skills by coloring pictures of a school and a school bus using crayons. We also talked about the exciting start of Term 3.

What a fun, happy, and positive start to the year! 今年もよろしくお願いします。
