Curriculum highlights
Hello everyone! ❄️This week, the Starfish classroom was filled with wintery fun as we brought all our favorite cold-weather activities inside to stay warm and cozy. On Monday, we kicked things off with some pretend ice skating! Using paper plates as skates, we practiced balancing, strengthening our leg muscles, and gliding back and forth like real ice skaters and all while dancing to fun music. ⛸️
Tuesday was all about sharpening our skills as we reviewed our flashcards and worked on a picture-matching activity. Everyone did a great job focusing and showing what they know!
On Wednesday, we chose our favorite animal friends and took them skiing across shiny foil. The smooth surface made them glide so easily, and the children loved watching their animals zoom along. 🐾
Thursday brought an extra challenge! We leveled up our snowboarding play by adding obstacles and trying out different textured surfaces. Using Lego characters on pretend snowboard blocks, we experimented to see which surfaces were the easiest (and trickiest!) to slide across.
We wrapped up the week on Friday with a messy and exciting sensory adventure, Snowmobiles on the floor! With cars and trucks in hand, we explored, raced, and laughed our way through the final day of our winter fun. 🚗❄️
What an amazing week of creativity, movement, and smiles in the Starfish classroom! Thank you all for another fun week!
