Morning & Afternoon Meeting
For morning meeting and afternoon meeting this week we started to do different things to wake us up in the morning. Their favorite thing to do is number races. Where they are given 3-4 things and they have to see who can do it the fastest! They also love to make a circle for our good morning song and all dance together!
Language and Literacy
This week we looked at a new sound, the sound 'ng'! We practiced writing ng and other words that have ng in them. We did word puzzles where we had to match the ng word to the picture. We made our king and ring craft! We had to look around to find the friend that had the same ng word picture as us. Then, we played a game of touch the word. They had to go around and touch a word and say what it was to be safe from the person that was it!
Math
This week we looked at one to one correspondence! We used colors to practice looking for ways that things are the same. We had numbers and apples and the we had to find who had the same number of numbers and apples. We used bees to count random numbers of how many things are in a group. We worked as partners for finger counting practice. Then, we used playdough to make balls that was the same number as the number rolled on the dice!
Topic Exploration
This week's topic exploration was simple machines. We listened to a song about simple machines and what they are, and we tested out some of those simple machines together. We tested levers, pulleys, scales, and ramps! We tested out some catapults and had a war between two groups!! We made grabbers using cups and straws and we used the grabbers to see who could grab the most paper. Then, we used balloon rockets!
Free Play!
Here are some pictures of our friends enjoying their playtime. We played in the big room and took a walk around the arcade this week!!
