Theme of the week :
Literacy and Science Week
Welcome back to yet another exciting week. May we kindly remember to send our morning Class dojo everyday for our little one's update. As the weather is getting colder, you may change some school clothes to fit the appropriate weather. Thank you for your support.
Curriculum highlights
Hello Seahorse family .
We started our week with an introduction of the letter sound "p" , as we continue with our phonics journey. They keep getting better and better by the day and they still remember our first three letter sounds! We had our first assembly for the term and we were taught how to be knowledgeable, to ask questions and to be curious about new things. They enjoyed the activities that were done for the assembly.
On Tuesday, we learnt about texture. Our main focus was on soft and hard objects. This was a new experience for them, trying to understand the differences. They explored stuffed toys and hard toys as well. Their main goal was to feel the object and say its texture. We are looking forward to them using the same words in their everyday life.
On Wednesday, we had sense stations on their tables. We explored the five senses that we have and said out loud each sense, also locating it on ourselves. They went on to try the objects on each station and they had to rotate so everyone experiences all senses.
On Thursday we talked about density, in simpler forms of sink and float. I demonstrated using actions for each aspect, just for them to get a glimpse of what I was trying to illustrate. They had various objects from the class to try and do the activity by themselves.
On Friday, we had a collaborative activity with our Starfish friends. We had an animal I spy game where they were matching the picture to the animal. They had to find a picture and an animal. They also tried on some different animal masks and said out their names.
Lastly, thank you so much for helping out our little ones with their homework. We hope you had a great time experiencing their creativity.
