Week 38 - February 13th, 2026

Hello, Orca Class families!

Morning & Afternoon Meeting

Our morning meetings this week were truly engaging and meaningful! Then, we started singing good morning song wherein we formed a circle and danced together as we say hello to everyone. It was such a joy seeing them laughing and holding each others' hands to begin our day. It was followed by checking our calendar time, assigning class jobs, doing a movement song and sharing about our whereabouts through our Class Dojo photos.  This week too, we had our Earthquake drill for this term and our friends knew what to do upon hearing the alarm. We immediately evacuated to the first floor and had a recap with our principal for the do's and dont's.

In the afternoon, we continued our Term 3  Show and Tell  this week about someone who they love. It was wonderful that our friends' different photos like their friends, families and even pets from Red  group. It was engaging and meaningful as we tried to guess what our friends brought/showed. Our friends were so curious and guessed a lot like why they chose it or asking about its shape and size. We ended our day through reading a storybook and singing a goodbye song.

For this week, we briefly reviewed patterns whilst focusing on using analog clocks in order to properly read time and understand the many units of time (hours, minutes, and seconds). Our lessons consisted of many crafts that solidified our understanding of the topic. We reinforced our learning with additional worksheets, presentations, and the use of physical clocks to answer questions that inferred about different times of the day.

Topic Exploration

For this week, our topic theme was, "Caring for Friends". We encountered new terms relating to the topic such as kindness, friendship, love, appreciation, etc. We introduced each lesson with a brief explanation of these terms, what they mean, when these words can be appropriately used, and how they demonstrate our affection for others, whether it be a close friend or family member. We made many crafts relating to the topic, alongside coinciding with the Valentine's Day themed activities as the upcoming holiday also represents the importance of caring for friends or a loved one. Our Orcas completed each task with great effort and concluded each lesson with a better understanding of their emotions relating to reciprocating and displaying kindness.

Free Play

Here are some more pictures of friends playing together in the classroom, in the Big Room, at the park, and enjoying other topics, events and activities at school.
