Morning & Afternoon Meeting
For morning meeting and afternoon meeting this week we had a lot of fun!! We are still doing fun dances and doing more movement activities in the morning. We are moving around in meaningful ways to wake ourselves up in the mornings! They really enjoy dancing in pairs with each other!! They really enjoy playing and dancing together in the mornings and afternoons!
Language and Literacy
This week we looked at a new letter, the letter 'y'! We practiced writing some words that have y in them. We made a special 'y' yak craft. We played 'y' tag where the students have to touch the letter Y and say the word they see in order to be safe. Then, we used paint to finish some words that were missing the 'y'!! They had a lot of fun this week.
Math
This week we started to look at shapes. We practiced tracing and writing different shapes. We were shape detectives and used shape magnifying glasses to look for different shapes around the school. We used pom-poms and beads to outline different shapes to work on our fine motor skills! Then, we used different shapes to make our own robots!!
Topic Exploration
This week's topic exploration was differences around me. So, we talked about being different and how that is okay!! We read different stories and talked about the special things we could do. We read the ugly duckling and made duck masks. Then, we made self portraits!!
